Looking for a scholarship?

Would you like to apply for a scholarship? Have you heard about Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship?

Free education is unfortunately not an obvious possibility for everyone. Some people have to pay for their education to be able to follow and fulfil their dreams, to obtain a degree and a job to live free, have a family and a successful career. It demands a lot of money, a lot of patience and a lot of work and it is never easy but the good news is that you can do it!

If you want to study abroad, you have got two possibilities: you can pay for your studies, or you can have someone (your country or an organisation for example) to pay for you in the form of a scholarship.

Some people who study here at the University of Miskolc as a fee-paying student have chosen to pay for their studies. Other people came here because they had applied for the Stipendium Hungaricum or the Scholarship Programme for Christian Young People and in spite of their successful entrance examinations and bright results, they were not given a scholarship in the end.

Don't be sad - mainly because it is never worth being sad about things or events that we cannot change but there is another reason: you have the chance to apply for the scholarship again!

Why would you waste precious time by waiting for the scholarship doing nothing (sitting at home, crying over the spilled milk) when you can do something fruitful: starting or continuing studying!

You come to the University of Miskolc, study your chosen courses, make new friends from all over the world, get new experiences and points of view and you can also have some work experience.

The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme was launched in 2013 by the Hungarian Government. The core mission of the programme is to increase the number of foreign students in Hungary and to encourage Hungarian higher education institutions to attract top foreign students.

The programme is based on bilateral educational cooperation agreements signed between the Ministries responsible for education in the sending countries/territories and Hungary or between institutions. Currently more than 50 Sending Partners are engaged in the programme throughout 4 different continents.

Students can apply for study programmes at bachelor, master and doctoral level, and preparatory courses as well. Apart from the tuition-free education, the Programme provides monthly stipend, medical insurance and housing allowance for the scholarship holders.

The Stipendium Hungaricum Programme is operated by Tempus Public Foundation under the supervision of the Ministry of Human Capacities.
