WHO IS GOING TO HELP ME UNTIL I ADJUST TO THE NEW SURROUNDINGS?

Your assigned mentor students and the mentor coordinator will help you, but you can also count on the colleagues of International Relations Office (in administrative matters) as well as the faculty coordinators and your lecturers (in academic issues).

WHAT PROGRAMMES WILL BE ORGANISED FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS?

You will be informed via e-mail / Facebook by the mentor coordinator and other mentor students about the available programmes. Sightseeing tours in Miskolc, trips to Lillafüred, Eger and Tokaj, parties and festivals (MEN, the 'Meat-jelly' festival, the Beer festival) 

IN MISKOLC AND ON THE CAMPUS, HOW CAN I SPEND MY FREE TIME?

You can visit the university or city libraries, do different kinds of sports, go to parties, galleries, theatres, cinemas, shopping tours, trips to the nature, even to other cities. If you require more information about the opportunities, contact your mentor or check out the advertisements on the corridors of the university buildings.

WHAT SPORTS CAN I DO ON THE CAMPUS?

14 tennis courts, an athletics track, basketball and streetball courts, a football pitch, a sports hall, and a swimming pool can be found on the campus. There are fitness rooms and gyms in the Sports Hall (the round building opposite the Uni-Hotel) - you can have a permanent card for the whole semester for 5000 HUF, and you can use these gyms 8.00-21.00 daily. A similar rate is available for the tennis courts. There is a gym equipped for special weight training in student hostel E/4, which you can use free of charge between 15.00 - 18.00 (sign up quickly because it is a popular place for students). 
 
You can join the normal curricular Physical Education classes of Hungarian students (free of charge). Aerobics, zumba, Thai boxing, karate, wing tsun kung fu, basketball, handball, volleyball, tennis, badminton, table tennis and American football can be chosen.
 
There is a swimming pool as well at the edge of the campus. It is open between 6:00-22:00 on Monday-Friday and between 8:00-20:00 on Saturday-Sunday. A ticket for students (can be purchased with a student ID card) costs 950 HUF, although prices are lower if you buy season tickets and/or use the pool in special hours, early morning or late evening.

IS THERE A SUPERMARKET ON THE CAMPUS OR NEAR THE CAMPUS?

In Miskolc, you can find a lot of super- and hypermarkets, all kinds of shops, groceries and markets. The closest places for shopping  are a LIDL and a TESCO supermarkets - only within 5-10 minutes of walking.

WHICH PLACES ARE WORTH VISITING NEAR MISKOLC?

Miskolc-Tapolca, Lillafüred, Ómassa and the Bükk mountains are waiting for you... ;)
